Rio Rico Farms, Inc has implemented food safety traceability process for its fresh produce. For each product, the following information is collected to allow tracking from farm to processing, warehousing and shipping: Grower, Field Location (i.e. Block/Lot #), Harvester, Date of Harvest, Truck # that transported the produce from field to processing facility, and License Plate # of the truck that transported the produce. This information is either passed or referenced throughout the process to allow tracing from Bill of Lading back to the field location where the produce was grown and harvested. Additional information is collected during processing, warehousing and shipping to further help identify where the produce had travelled through, such as dryer # if applicable, pallet #, shipping company, shipping date, truck license plate #, etc.
